Robert Samuel King is a passionate faith leader, author and bridge builder whose dreams and passions focus on seeing people of all ages, ethnicities, and cultures live life with excitement, love, purpose, and joy. Born in Nashville, Tennessee and having traveled around the world, Pastor Robert is a man full of diverse experiences. His first book, “Hearts on Fire: Your Roadmap to an Exciting, Love-Filled Life”, will be released in the spring of 2021. His passion for seeing people across all walks of life become change agents in their communities, churches, institutions, and around the world transcends mere words. He is often sought as a keynote speaker, visionary teacher, and inspirational mentor for diverse communities of faith, schools, and beyond.
Raised in loving and diverse communities of faith, his wealth of experiences endow him with a deep compassion, grounded strength and joyful persona to inspire success in others. His failures and moments of being misunderstood and rejected are reminders that anchoring your identity as a beloved child of God is a rich source of power. Also, they have taught him the healing power of forgiveness, and the life-changing power of joining the Jesus movement to experience personal and global change.
Robert’s love for excellence in learning enable him to be proficient in the Arabic, Latin, and Hebrew languages as well as Spanish conversation. He was valedictorian of his graduating class at Clark Atlanta University and graduated with honors from Wesley Theological Seminary.
Robert currently serves as pastor of Golden United Methodist Church in Douglasville, Georgia, one of the larger United Methodist churches in the North Georgia Annual Conference. Robert King is the youngest son of Bishop James R. King, Jr. and the late Rose King. He has an older brother and sister and is joyfully married to his wife, Angelica.
